The Arkansas Division of Higher Education (ADHE) has approved Gateway Allied Health to allow students who are 17 years of age and currently attending high school to enroll in any of our Allied Health Programs with a parent or guardian's signature on the enrollment forms.

Gateway is a NEW Vendor through the Arkansas Education Freedom Program. Arkansas families currently have access to two main programs that support flexible education funding. These options can help cover tuition, curriculum, and other approved services. This program is administered by the Arkansas Department of Education and managed through the ClassWallet platform.

Q: Are there any pre-enrollment requirements?
A: YES, All students must pass 10-panel urine drug screen and undergo a federal and state background check PRIOR to enrollment.
Q: Where do I go to have the drug screen and background check done?
A: All background checks will be conducted through Accutrace, HR, LLC. We are partners with Accutrace and these background checks will be done at the school.
A: All TB skin tests will be conducted at CHI Convenient Care Clinic located at 100 McGowan Court, Hot Springs, AR., 71913 (501) 525-9675
A: All urine drug screens (10-panel) will be conducted at Occupational Medicine located at 5001 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, AR., 71913 (501) 701-4197
Students do have the option of having this urine drug screen done closer to their home. Please check with the Admissions office to find available centers.
Q: What is the cost of the Federal and State background checks, TB skin test, and Urine drug screen?
A: The Federal and State background checks costs $35, TB skin test $15, and the Urine drug screen (10-panel) $40.
Q: What happens after drug screens and background checks are completed?
A: The results will be released directly to Gateway Allied Health after the student signs a consent form. The Program Director will review the results and meet with the student to discuss them. Enrollment may begin once a negative drug screen and background clearance have been confirmed.
Q: What is involved in the enrollment process?

A copy of a valid driver's license or state ID, High School diploma or equivalent must be on file to complete the enrollment process.
Q: Do you have payment plans available?
A: Yes, based on what program the student chooses, this will determine the allowable monthly payments for the payment plan. No payment plan will exceed a 12-month period. Please contact the Admissions office for more information regarding financial assistance.
Q: Do you offer federal pell grants or workforce grants?
A: Gateway Allied Health is not currently approved for Title IV funding and therefore does not participate in federal Pell Grants or student loans at this time. We are in the process of obtaining institutional accreditation. Please check back later for updates.
A: Yes, Gateway Allied Health is an approved Workforce Grant training provider through the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services and is registered in the Arkansas Job Link System. A: Gateway is a "Vendor" with the Arkansas Rehabilitation Services and participates with their scholarship program. ARS is a division of the Arkansas Workforce Services.
Q: Where will the clinical externship hours be completed for the different Allied Health Programs?
A: Please call the school and speak to the Admissions Coordinator for more information, as this question may vary depending on your location. We do partner with several local hospitals, pharmacies, and medical facilities in the surrounding areas and across the state, as our umbrella covers the whole State of Arkansas.
Q: What vaccinations will I need to begin clinicals?
A: All students are required to bring in a copy of their current immunization record, have a current FLU vaccination and negative TB skin test before beginning clinicals. Students may sign a flu declination and fill out a Covid-19 exemption.
Q: Where do I get CPR certified?
A: Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR classes will be held twice a month at Gateway Allied Health. These classes are taught by Michael Mays, NREMT-P through Hearts Plus.
This certification is through American Heart Association. The cost of this class is $60 and is separate from the total program cost. Q: What classes will be taught online?
A: We will be offering "HYBRID" courses (also known as blended courses) replace a portion of traditional face-to-face instruction with web-based online learning. A hybrid class incorporates elements of both online and in-person learning. The method is a necessity in some courses like those with a lab component.
The Hybrid online classes that we will offer include: Certified medical assistant (CMA), Certified phlebotomy technician (CPT), Certified pharmacy technician (CPhT), Certified electrocardiograph technician, (CET) Certified Surgical Technician (CST), Certified Medical Coding & Billing Specialist (CMCB, MCBS), Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT), Certified Limited License Radiologic Technician (CLLRT) and Certified Physical Therapy Aide (CPTA). and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA).
Q: Will the Certified Nursing Assistant Program be taught online?
A: NO, the Nursing Assistant Training Program will be taught in person (face-to-face) in a traditional classroom setting.
